Mission:
Rippin' Rope Lacrosse Camps are designed for boys and girls ages 7 and up, as old as those entering senior year in HS, looking for improvement with all lacrosse skills, concepts, and strategy at each position on the field.
Rippin’ Rope Lacrosse’s mission is to provide its boys and girls campers with a lacrosse camp experience where all participants can have fun, learn about the right way to play the game of lacrosse, and be exposed to the valuable life lessons of hard work, physical education, camaraderie, and the building of positive self esteem.

- • Founder of Rippin' Rope Lacrosse (LLC) in 2003. Rippin' Rope Lacrosse has grown from a one week camp for 23 boys in 2003 to a producer of year-round camps, clinics, and travel club teams www.rrlaxclub.comthat will serve over 350 boys and girls in 2011.
• Current head coach at Caravel Academy (1st season 2012)
• Varsity Boys Head Coach at Tatnall School from 2004 to 2011. 86-50 record over 8 years. State tournament 2004-2010. Semifinals 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, state finalists in 2006.
• US Lacrosse Team USA mens' U-19 selector in summer 2011.
• Delaware Interscholastic Boys Lacrosse Coaches Association (DIBLCA) Secretary 2009-2011.
• Former players have gone on to play at Syracuse, Bryant, Princeton, Bucknell, Delaware, Hofstra, Washington College, & Haverford.
• Former attackman/midfielder at Division I University of Delaware. NCAA tournament 1999.
• Double Goal Certified coach by Positive Coaching Alliance and Level 2 Certified coach by US Lacrosse
• 2-time state champion at Mountain Lakes High School, NJ -

Jackie Trainer
Girls' Director,
Rippin' Rope Lacrosse Camps
• Coach Trainer begins her third season at Wilmington University, her first as head coach of the women’s lacrosse program. Jackie graduated from Council Rock High School, where she was a two-sport standout in lacrosse and field hockey.
• A 2009 graduate of Monmouth University, Coach Trainer was a four year member of the Hawks lacrosse team. In her four seasons, Trainer helped lead the squad to three regular season Northeast Conference titles (2005, 2006, 2008), along with one Northeast Conference Tournament Championships (2007).
• Prior to coming to Wilmington, she spent one season as a volunteer assistant coach at Monmouth, and also coached at St. James Elementary in Red Bank, NJ. Trainer has also spent time working at the T3 Summer Clinic and the Nike Lacrosse Camp.
• Coach Trainer earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History from Monmouth, and currently resides in Philadelphia.

Rippin' Rope Lacrosse Camps will feature several of the country's top players and coaches as instructors and guest speakers. The Rippin' Rope daily lectures will feature leading college, pro and high school coaches & players who will focus their talks on a specific topic that given day. Our campers have a chance to demo the lacrosse industry's leading manufacturers' products; Harrow Lacrosse visited in 2005, Cascade Helmets in 2006 and 2009, and STX presented its newest products at our three 2009 camp venues.
Expert individual instruction will focus on the following areas:
Boys:
Defense - Footwork, Slides, Checks, Stickwork, Clearing
Midfield- Offense/Defense, Fast Break, Shooting, Ground Balls, Playing Physically
Attack - Shots, Off- Ball Motion, One-on-one play, Picks, Feeding, Riding
Goalie - Talk, Footwork, Clearing, Positioning, Play outside crease, Outlets
Faceoffs - Techniques, Drills, Counter-moves
Longstick - Checks, Ball Handling, Pursuit, Wing play, Transition D
Girls:
Defense: footwork, body positioning, stick checking, off ball play, team play, point & cover point, drills
Goalie: footwork, clearing, communication, saving, drills
Attack, Wing, Center: throwing, catching, shooting, cradling, passing, stick protection, scooping, dodging, drills
Home: throwing, catching, shooting, finishing, basic & advanced dodges, faking, stick protection, drills
Sample Camp Day:
Step 1 - Arrive each day by this time, get on your proper equipment
(including Rippin' Rope reversible jersey), begin to throw ball around,
shoot, stretch on your own.
Step 2 - Camp meeting as group. Announcements are made, any questions and/or concerns can be brought up.
Step 3 - Counselors lead camp stretch.
Step 4 - Break up into station drills by age and skill level. At least one
staff member at each station. 6 stations usually for 10 minutes each.
Step 5 - Water Break. July is hot!!!
Step 6 - Resume/review station work.
Step 7 - Guest speaker for the day.
Step 8 - Camp contest for prize.
Step 9 - Games are divided by age and/or skill level.
Step 10 - Camp huddle, re-state announcements. Camper of the Day choice.
Step 11 - End of camp. Make sure to pick up your belongings. Grab a coach for some extra work.
